Milestones

1894  – The foundation of  Konus started in 1894 when the small tannery on the river Dravinja outgrew step by step into the industrial business system.

The most important rise was attained in 1955 when Konus started to introduce other production programs, besides the production of leather.

In 80′ Konus achieved the largest production volume by large investments into chemical production.

 7 divisions with 1240 employees produce natural and synthetic leather, technical belts and other technical products, plastics elements, production and confection of nonwoven materials, and leather production.

After the independence of Slovenia, a new company Konus Konex was established in 1991 with private capital.

Konus Konex continued with the production and sale of selected production programs from old Konus with an orientation on the production of non-woven materials.

The majority owner of Konus Konex becomes italian company Chiorino.

From 1991 – 1999 Konus Konex recovered production of :

  • SILON – Synthetic leather for the Shoe industry,
  • Conveyor and transmission belts,
  • KOFIL – Filter media,
  • KONFLIN – Filler for clothing, upholstery, and automobile industry
  • IPI TOP – cleaning clothes and home products
The main markets of the company were the EU markets.

In 1997 tThe majority owner of Konus Konex becomes Italian company Chiorino.

1998  – The first ISO certification has been performed.

Konus Konex becomes a family business owned by the Grilj family.

A new latest version of needle-felt line is bought.

New company is established in Belgrade Serbia, mainly for trading of cleaning cloths. Same year Konus also has bought the company Vulkan protektor for services and trading of various types of industrial belts on this market.

Konus has bought and establish a new production company – today Konus S in the South of Serbia and moved its headquarters for this region.

Company Zvezda SPT has been bought for the production of technical and industrial textiles.

In 2010 Konus Konex started with a new period of massive reconstruction and modernization of complete production in Slovenske Konice and in all subsidiaries including of renovation of business processes and production programs.

In 2020 Konus Konex expands and built a new modern production company with the latest technology line for special nonwoven materials.

2023  – The construction of the 2nd  production building has started and will be finished in the Autumn of this year.

A new modern line for composites is implemented.

 

The same year ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental standard is obtained.

The Synthetic leather and the Needle-punched fleece are available in different colour shades, they are a first class and distinguished by constant quality, thickness and colour.
KOFIL
Filtration of gases and dust, liquids, air and air conditioning. Manufacture of industrial filters and support products.
TIPI TOP
Production and distribution of different articles for household cleaning, car cleaning and professional cleaning.
ZVEZDA
Interlinings and Tehnical textile laminates for ready-made clothing industry, leather garments industry, shoe industry and automotive.
KONFLIN-FNA
KONFLIN - Technical needlefelts. We develop needle-punched nonwovens according to the technical requirements of our customers. Our nonwovens are used in a large variety of applications: automotive, construction, composites, cable manufacturing, agriculture and packaging.
